In September, Dr. Clevenger was invited to Appalachian State University in Boone, North Carolina to speak during their Awareness for Safety Week. She first spoke to the Boone community at the Walk for Awareness, a walk hosted to raise awareness for sexual assault and intimate partner violence. The following day she worked with Women and Gender Studies and Government and Justice Studies students to discuss issues in feminist research. Finally, Dr. Clevenger also served as a keynote speaker at the I.G. Greer Auditorium where she presented her research regarding experiences of sexual assault survivors and their families with the criminal justice system, coping and subsequent cybervictimization.
