If you want to have an emphasis on science, math, and technology in your overall degree, you will need to complete an additional three semester hour science, math, or technology course beyond any of those taken for general education. You cannot use the same course to satisfy general education and the BS requirement.
Go to page 37 of the Undergraduate Catalog and look under Academic Policies for the courses designated to satisfy this requirement.
By choosing a BS degree, you do not have to complete the BA requirement.
Bachelors of Arts
If you want to have proficiency in a foreign language, you will need to complete a foreign language at the 115 level. Languages offered at ISU include Chinese, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Latin, Portuguese, and Spanish.
By choosing a BA degree, you do not have to complete the BS requirement.
If you are following the ISU General Education program, because you started at ISU as a first-time freshman, you should go to page 49.
If you are following the IAI General Education program, because you transferred to ISU without an AA or AS degree, you should go to page 54.
Students following older catalogs should go to the Archive tab and click on the appropriate catalog.
Students must complete at least one course in AMALI (cultures and traditions of Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Latin America or Indigenous Peoples of the world - formerly Global Studies), which must meet certain criteria. For a list of the criteria and approved classes, please go to the Undergraduate Catalog, click on Academic Policies, and go to page 38.
